The Areas of Interest at Oxnard College are groupings of similar programs that can lead to similar employment opportunities. It is designed to help students focus on a pathway of study applicable to their unique strengths, personality, and interests. The college’s goal is to help limit unnecessary units or courses while also providing broad career and major exploration for undecided students.

  1. Hands-On Learning
    The Hands-on Technology pathway provides a lot of applied learning, like building things with your hands or working in the ever-evolving world of computer networking. Skills developed include critical thinking, analyzing problems, and working with technology beyond the traditional office space. This pathway will lead to direct employment opportunities upon completion.

    Business and Hospitality's pathway teaches the skills of leadership, creativity, entrepreneurship, and independence. All of which are skills and attributes used in careers like Finance, Marketing, and the Hospitality industry.
